Hello all,
I've installed the latest rev 1.0102. My problem of NewsClipper.pl not
finding the system wide config file persists. My installation procedure
was: I removed all files from the previous rev before installing the new
version. I su to root, cd to the distribution directory and "ran perl
Makefile.PL". I selected 2 system wide install and /usr/etc/ for the
config file location. I then ran make, make install, and make
NewsClipper_Cleanup. I the edited /etc/profile adding
NEWSCLIPPER=/usr/etc, made sure it was exported and for good measure
rebooted.
Again from the command line I can run NewsClipper.pl as any user and it
works fine. As a cron job it fails with this message:
Can't locate NewsClipper.cfg in @INC (@INC contains:
/home/minivend/.NewsClipper /usr/lib/perl5/5.00502/i686-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/5.00502 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i686-linux
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005 .) at /usr/bin/NewsClipper.pl line 106.
So the array INC doesn't know about /usr/etc. Why not? The environment
variable is set. As a stop gap I'm placing a copy of the system wide
config in the /home/minivend/.NewsClipper directory. This is not how I
would prefer to run so any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.
I also tried it on another box RedHat 6.0 Perl 5.005_3 same install
procedure same results.
TIA
