From a friend: Franken's campaign has just set up a new email address for the recount: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I just called the Franken headquarters. Coleman's lead is now down to 239 votes. The numbers keep changing daily, because they are re-checking the vote tallies for all the precincts that each county submitted, and have found some errors. Pine County originally reported 24 votes for a certain township, but the actual number was 124 for Franken. There was a typo, and they somehow "missed" the 1! So Franken got another 100 votes from Pine County. The canvassing, or re-checking, of the reported numbers of all the vote tallies for MN's 87 counties will be finished by mid-week. The official recount won't start until Nov 19th. So the vote tallies will continue to change until this re-check is complete. I asked if they had included all the absentee ballots and provisionals, and they weren't sure if the vote tallies from the counties included them. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Mark Crispin Miller's "News From Underground" newsgroup.
