WHEN IS IT GOVERNOR SIEGELMAN'S TURN???

Attorney General Eric Holder's office has dropped two major cases
since January, the one against Ted Stevens of Alaska, and now the
case against these two pro-Israel lobbyists. If General Holder is in
the mode of meting out justice, there is no one more deserving of
exoneration than former Democratic Governor of Alabama Don Siegelman.
As this newspaper noted last week, Governor Siegelman was targeted
politically and convicted on trumped-up charges, not having committed
a crime at all. Yet his case seems to languish somewhere in the
Department of Justice. Certainly Eric Holder can move Governor
Siegelman to the top of his agenda. In a democratic nation, wouldn't
the right thing be to prioritize the innocent ahead of those
whose situations are, to say the least, shadier? I call upon
Attorney General Holder to examine the case of Don Siegelman and to
give this good man the justice he deserves.
