From Kindra Muntz: Concerned Voters:
The 2009 legislative session in Florida is officially over. Thank goodness! Thanks to you and voters all over Florida who called and emailed their state senators and representatives, thanks to the efforts of over 40 public interest organizations, to editorials from newspapers all over the state and the New York Times, and thanks to the dedicated team of progressive legislators led by Representatives Keith Fitzgerald and Representative Scott Randolph in the House, voter suppression bills SB956/HB7149 and their ilk were crushed. We now know clearly what we are up against with the majority in the Florida state legislature. Their goal is suppression of the vote. We know we will face more bad legislation again next year. Let's be ready. Please attend the conference May 15-16 in Deland if at all possible. The final agenda and speakers are outstanding! All details including hotel information are below. One-day Saturday reservations are possible, but I can say from experience the Friday events and evening banquet are not to be missed! CALL NOW TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE. --and thanks again for all your dedicated work to stop SB956/HB7149. THE VOTERS WON!
