It may be worth noting that Clay County was the place where a cabal
of GOP election officials --posing as "Democrats"--engaged in rigging
the elections of 2002, 2004 and 2006, and
were indicted for it just last March:

Perhaps it's pertinent to note also that the GOP's election fraud has
long required prevention
of a proper census, which would provide an accurate count of all the
voters, or potential
voters, really out there. With such a count, it would be easier to
spot suspicious numbers
in elections. Hence the GOP's ongoing drive to de-fund, interfere
with, and discredit the
US Census Bureau.

Now, unless Bill Sparkman actually scrawled "fed" on his own chest
before he hanged
himself, the man was murdered; and such a deed may either have been
perpetrated by
some random nut, or by a random nut impelled by the Republican
crusade against the
Census Bureau; or by somebody else.

In any case, this actually is not the first time that a government
employee not in law
enforcement has been murdered by right-wing extremists. So maybe this
event is one
that should be bigger news, and the immediate focus of a real investigation.

Report:
Census Worker In KY Had Been Warned To Be Careful

By Mark Memmott

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2009/09/report_census_worker_in_kentuc.html

As Frank said yesterday, much still isn't known about the death of
Census field worker Bill Sparkman in Clay County, Ky. His body was
discovered Sept. 12. Yesterday, it was reported that he was found
hanged and that the word "fed" had been written on his chest.

Today on Federal News Radio, news director Ted Werbin of WHAS-radio
in Louisville reported that Sparkman had told others he had been
warned by a retired state trooper to be careful in rural Clay County
because some people there aren't fond of anyone from the federal
government.

Still, it's important to note that authorities do not yet know what
happened to Sparkman.

The FBI is investigating the hanging death of a U.S. Census worker
near a Kentucky cemetery, and a law enforcement official told The
Associated Press the word 'fed" was scrawled on the dead man's chest.
