This "second wave" at first appeared to peak in September of 2015, when Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, a renowned **oncologist and best-selling author who'd been treating cancer naturally for roughly thirty years, was found dead in the woods near his home, reportedly a "suicide." While the New York Times reported Dr. Gaynor's passing with all due solemnity, it was Erin Elizabeth of Health Nut News who let her readers know that his was the eleventh such untimely death among holistic healers in the past 90 days.
