Dear friends, Last weekend I was at my home town, Alleppey. Was surprised to see the morning Manorama daily with photographs and news about surrender of three guys from my locality. All of them are basically criminals, but born Muslims. But the news said, they were arrested in context of "theevradadom" !! People are happy to see them behind bars, but sad to see that they are given "theevravadi" label since this is again going to be used against Muslims in general. One of them used to actively participate in CPM activities. Some time back when I visited police station regarding my father's accident case, I had met one of them in Police station. He had gone there to negotiating with Police in the same accident case as the other partys guy!!
(I came to know the following this weekend) Few boys from my locality were taken to Kannur by these guys promising them to give job. After three days one of the boys whom I know (he is relative of mine and is from a very poor family. He is less than 19 yeard old) called up his parents and requested to save those boys from their custody. So the father called up those guys and they abused him and cut the phone. Soon he got information that his son and another boy was arrested by police in connection with "theevravadom". These boys were not given money for their work and they had gone to the house of those guys to ask their wages. Same time police arrived there searching for these guys. Police took custody of few of them while others fled. The father, a poor man, was frightened by others saying that if you go in search of him, you will also be jailed and hence he didnt go. But contacted some local leaders. Since this is "theevradadi" case, people are reluctant to interfere, even though they all know this boy is innocent. Finally one advocate promised to help them, but said, it would cost them much money. During intorregation this boy told that he was working in a chicken shop till couple of days back. Police called and verified that what this boy is telling is truth. Still since no one went in search of him, they remanded him!! I personally feel that this is planned move starting from Kashmir counter. ->Police kills/ arrests Muslims with criminal background and give them "theevravadi" label ->Police take to custody/arrests innocents too in connection with this so that every day there will be news and discussions on "theevravadom" in all media. This propoganda is more than enough to make many in Kerala believe that "theevravadi" activities are immense in Kerala. And they (Muslims, marxists) also start talking about resisting "theevravadom" in Kerala. Let us pray that these "theevravadi" makers dont start bomb blasts in Kerala as they are doing in north.
