Time to dig into http://Poplus.org and explore how civic tech
components can benefit your city/state/nation and the world at the
same time.

See the mini-grant opportunity below. And share your idea here:

the size of that fund?)

On a related note, the "What is Poplus?" event in Chicago went well
and was recorded thanks to the Smart Chicago Collaborative:

The slides include a great seven minute lighting talk by project
leaders from Chile and the UK from TransparencyCamp - direct link:

Subject: [Poplus] Micro-Grants for Technical Development - Apply Now!
To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

Hi there

Following on from my mail about the finance call:

- We have $20,000 from the original Poplus grant to disburse to
individuals and groups carrying out technical development work
on/using the components up to $5,000 per project

- Ideally the monies are to be spent developing new components or new
features for existing components (like the Facebook integration for
WriteIt) however they can be used for implementations of components
used within larger projects

- To apply, please complete this form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1s0vJ2tDugRhqc74HQ39kmQpQ8noK8WF3R-wLFbyfToE/viewform

- Please get your applications in by 10th September 2014

- The target is for successful projects to be chosen and stakeholders
informed by 17th September

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch

One final point to add - if you are from a funding organisation and
might be interested in helping support the growth of Poplus through
funding micro-grants, please do let us know! We think that it could
be a very powerful tool for helping expand the impact of the
community.

Many thanks

Paul
