Hi all,

Thanks so much for coming to OpenTech 2015. We hope you enjoyed it as much
as we did. It is the inspiration you take from the OpenTech speakers that
makes OpenTech what it is.

A big thank you to our speakers, volunteers and attendees who made it
happen. Particular thanks to Alasdair, David, Kathryn, Quentin and Zuz for
helping far more than volunteers had to, and Annabel for stepping in at the
last minute :). Hopefully David, Dee, Hadley, Linda, Glyn, Owen, Nick, and
others are now feeling better.

As a speaker it’s really lovely to know what may have happened as a result
of giving a talk. If you use something you learnt from OpenTech, so do give
the speaker(s) a tweet or email so they know they helped something, or
point friends at the audio

.

Over the last week, the speakers have listened to the audio, and *we’ve
published *

many of the talks that were recorded as we can. The recordings will appear
in our podcast/blog feed over the next few weeks as well.

And if that wasn’t enough… The nice people at Linux Luddites Podcast did a
set of interviews at OpenTech, which are in the last hour of *this episode*

.

We’ve had a few questions this year about how the OpenTech schedule comes
about *[mostly, it’s in a panic - Sam]*. And many of you noticed we had a
lot of women speakers this year (hurrah!). For those of you counting it was
19 out of 46 speakers, so not quite 50:50.

As always, the schedule is the way the talks that people suggested settled
out, with a few last minute suggestions supplied by external experts. Our
consideration in speakers is that they have something interesting to say
(although it helps if they’re free on the day too).

We like to think ahead, so if you have other comments or speaker
ideas/topics for next time, do tweet @opentechuk or hit reply to email us,
and they'll go in our big list.

Finally, our thanks to the *Open Data Institute*

for sponsoring. OpenTech wouldn’t be what it is without their support and
energy. Oh, and a heads up to job seekers, they have a number of jobs open
at the moment across *the whole organisation*

are worth a look.

Thanks again for coming,
Sam (and David, who’s recovered from doing OpenTech while also ill - thanks
David)
