U.S. National Action Plan for Open Government The White House has been convening public participation for drafting the U.S Government's 3rd National Action Plan for Open Government and one notable update is that it carves out a section for state and local government. The drafting process has been managed using HackPad, but tomorrow there's also an in-person meeting and collaboration session in DC with options for remote participation. For more information see: - https://hackpad.com/How-to-participate-in-development-of-the-U.S.-Open-Government-National-Action-Plan-3.0-lYDkyBe1aCZ#:h=Comment-Policy - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/open-gov-national-action-plan-public-meeting-tickets-17695600016 International Open Data Charter An international coalition led by the governments of Canada and Mexico has been drafting an International Open Data Charter and there's a lot of interest in having cities sign on to it rather than just national governments. The main public comment period for this ends on Friday and I believe the formal launch is expected by a head of state at the UN General Assembly in September.
