No. You need to select either the card or the internal
memory to store your mail (in the prefs section, or
selecting the card, check "save all new info here")

Yes. If you save things on the card and remove said
card, the email is unaccessible until the card is
reinserted. UNless you have a cranial implanted flash
card reader. :)
