Jordan,
I got a T8 at Sears for $2 yesterday to open my eMate. I am going to replace
the batteries. I'll look at KMart for the adapter. Thanks.

I got the adapter at K-Mart. It does 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, and 12
volts, comes with 12 different plugs (one of them was the right size
for the Newt) and is polarity switchable. Cost about $10.
Unfortunately, it is only 600mA, while the Newton requires 1.2A, so
it only has enough power to make the startup chime, display the
screen, then it stops. It seems to charge the battery but I believe
that the battery is stone cold dead and I need a Torx T8 in order to
replace it.

In the meantime, I could just pick up another adapter and wire them
together :D That should do it!
