Hi Birders,

I'm just beginning to dig into this whole nocturnal flight call thing, and
it is awesome. I took a couple hours in one of my favorite spots for fall
migrants near Sudbury, MA today and managed a few recordings before sunup.
This one included below is giving me a little trouble. It sounds vaguely
Gray-cheeked Thrush-like but seems to be a little too low in pitch.

Sorry for the quality of the sound file, I'm currently just using my SLR
for the recordings. I'll upgrade to something else by next spring I hope.

There was a substantial movement of Swainson's Thrushes between 5 and 6 AM,
with at least 35 separate birds. I had a good bunch of Rose-breasted
Grosbeaks, and surprisingly few warblers. After sunup I could only find 2
Swainson's Thrushes, which was interesting considering how many were
airborne an hour earlier!

Best,
