Hi All,
I am a design engineer recently (Feb 09) retired from the Bioacoustics Program (BRP) at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I have designed and built most of the microphones and housings used by BRP to record NFCs . Presently, I have a four microphone array behind my barn feeding a Labview program in a laptop. I have a microphone housing design that has been out in the weather for almost a year and all the mics still work. I am most interested in what kind of hardware people are using and what works well and what needs improving. I think the biggest challenge is in the microphones. My question is what would the ideal microphone be? What are the specs for frequency response, sensitivity, signal-to-noise, size, cost etc? I look forward to hearing from you, TomF -- NFC-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NFC_WELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NFC_RULES --
