Hey all,

Last night's flight was by far the best of the spring in Syracuse, NY. The
low cloud ceiling and intermittent light rain produced optimal conditions
for quiet hilltops throughout the city. Call rates ranged from 5-10/minute
from multiple locations. Swainson's Thrushes dominated the flight, but
Veerys, Gray-cheeked Thrush, Wood Thrush, Lincoln's Sparrow (probable, based
on phenology), Common Yellowthroat, Canada Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler,
Bay-breasted (probable) were all well-represented with multiples of all but
Canada. There were a number of other zeeps and tseeps that I could not
identify as well.

Most exciting though, once I got back to my apartment around 3 AM, were two
calls from a probable Bicknell's Thrush. This bird was very low, heard
well, and distinctly higher than the Gray-cheeks.

Good birding,
Lewis
