I had the same problem, and my problem was that nfsen was using an old
version of nfcapd. The installation of nfdump dit not remove the old
installation, and the old nfsen.conf was pointing it to the old
executables. You do not mention anything about versions here, but you do
know that nfsen 1.3 requires version 1.5.6 of nfdump?
