If I understand your question correctly, you are trying to know the flow of
code execution / working concepts behind the sceenes...? If yes, you shall
try using some Code Modelling tools to generate UML Diagrams (say; Package,
State, Sequence, etc)

The link lists out various tools available to study existing source code or
reverse engineer executables...

Among these tools, Rational Rose, Visual Paradigm and Altova are descent in
visualizing the code.
