I've pushed some ntirpc changes to shutdown that might fix the problems reported by Dominique. Ignore the RDMA, I used an existing branch for convenience.
To test, you'd fetch the linuxbox2 versions of nfs_genesha and ntirpc -- as in git remote add followed by git fetch --all for both parts respectively.
