Anyway, here are the details of the box running ganesha
- 3.10.0-327.el7.ppc64le #1 SMP Thu Oct 29 17:31:13 EDT 2015 ppc64le

Two things leap out at me. PPC. We have a PPC box, but don't
routinely test. So that's one possibility.
However, running the exact same test from the server itself succeeds.
That sounds a lot like the WRT14 bug I fixed last week, a dropped line
during a code reshuffle (making most common test first) and that was the
least common code path (so not enough testing).
On my workstation or laptop, obviously I always am running on the same
machine for client and server. Your real world tests are very helpful.
Our test rack is having 10 hard drives upgraded this week, so things are
in flux, but DanG will try to reproduce soon.
