i believe you are running nfsen.rc start to activate nfsen in
background? can you confirm nfsen started correctly? (nfsen should be
dropping messages in /var/log/messages, you may want to configure the
nfsen.conf with debug for now)

and how about chmod -R 777 /usr/local/var/nfsen directory structure
for now before you restart the nfsen process..
