Hi,
Yes i did that when you asked first time, i checked using su - www. I entered
all directories and i'm able to create, delete and read in all the directory
structure. I'm not using jail, and checked my apache logs for errors, but find
none. I thought that when you request any information, including the graphics,
this would be pulled from the nfsend/socket, am i wrong?

Try an "su www" and then see if you can browse to the directory.
I know that your file listing shows that www has permissions on the
directory and on the PNG files, but I'm still thinking they may not be
able to read them because they are locked out of a higher directory.
Another possibility could be: the PNG files are stored outside of your
apache html root and you have settings in the httpd.conf file that does
not allow apache to access outside of there or you are running apache in a
chroot jail and the directory structure is outside of the chroot jail.
