Problem is now solved. The reason for it is quite embarassing for me. There were two different versions of rrdtool installed on the host running nfcapd and nfsen. Of course, tools like nfprofile were linked against the wrong one. Now, the profiles work. Sorry for disturbance and thanks to all the people who helped me to the right direction.
