Did you build RRD into nfdump?
--with-rrdpath=[/usr]
When building nfprofile, configure expects to find the
installed rrdtool in /usr with rrd.h in /usr/include and
librrd in /usr/lib
If not, that is likely the problem. I made the same oversight and
experienced symptoms similar to what you describe. To be honest, I never saw
mention of needing to build RRD into nfdump (ntprofile specifically) in the
nfsen install docs.

RRD tools
All netflow graphs in NfSen require RRD. At least the RRDs Perl Module is
required.
You will find all about RRD here.
Nfdump tools
The nfdump tools are the backend tools for NfSen and will collect and
process the netflow data.
Make sure, that you have installed version 1.5.6. Don't try any version <
1.5.5, or the profiles will not work.
You can download nfdump from sourceforge nfdump.sourceforge.net.

It just says you need RRD for the nfsen install. Now it's possible I just
glanced over it while reading the docs, and it's equally possible that
admins far more experienced than I would have simply assumed that was what
needed to be done. But for me, it was a days worth of troubleshooting and
head scratching, heh. I hope this saves you the same.
Oh and BTW, once we got it running and dialed in, nfsen is a magnificent
application. What a time saver. Kudos to those involved in the development.
