Hello everyone,

I've just run into this problem on my nfsen install, and I am wondering what
could be causing it:

nfdump -M /data/nfsen/profiles/live/12410intx1IGW:12410FFanc1IGW -T -R
nfcapd.200909161855:nfcapd.200909162000 -n 20 -s record/flows -o line
Expand_FlowTable_Blocks Memory error: Cannot allocate memory

The command runs for about 5 minutes and then it outputs the error message.
I've monitored the memory usage on the server and it doesn't seem to run out
of RAM.
This is taken just before the error message (5 seconds before):
[r...@hail ~]# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 7270404 7012900 257504 0 242988 3371532
-/+ buffers/cache: 3398380 3872024
Swap: 2096472 192 2096280

And this is taken 3 seconds after:
[r...@hail ~]# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 7270404 3927048 3343356 0 243012 3383988
-/+ buffers/cache: 300048 6970356
Swap: 2096472 192 2096280

The server has 7G RAM, and it seems about 3-4G are used of cache - so it has
enough memory in my opinion.
The files for 12410intx1IGW (for the selected interval) take up 2G, and the
files for the other router take up 1.3G.

In the past I have run more complex queries on longer time intervals (6hrs)
and I didn't run in this error.

Does anyone know why the error appears?

Thanks
Adrian
