I had an nfsen/nfdump box up and running for 4-5 months, when a filesystem on that machine ate itself in spectacular fashion, which trashed all of the data that had been collected to date. The machine is not in production right now, so the loss of the data is not a major problem.
I was able to get nfsen up and running again after wiping the filesystem where nfsen was storing its data, and re-running install.pl to put the pieces back where nfsen expects to find them. All well and good. The issue I've run into with creating and modifying new profiles to start collecting new data. When I create a new shadow/continuous profile (shadowed from 'live') and attempt to delete the channels that are created by default, they still show up in the profile, and when I do that, I see the following error in my Apache error_log: [Wed May 04 18:59:03 2011] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: chan_id in /var/www/htdocs/netflow/profileadmin.php, on line 594, referer: http://netflow01.XXX.XXX.XXX/newflow/nfsen.php I also see this error from time to time, but I haven't been able to determine what action triggers it yet. [Wed May 04 18:59:07 2011] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] PHP Warning: array_key_exists() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /var/www/htdocs/netflow/profileadmin.php, on line 819, referer: http://netflow01.XXX.XXX.XXX/newflow/nfsen.php I've gone as far as wiping out my nfsen build directory, and re-installing from the original nfsen 1.3.5 tarball, using a backed-up copy of my nfsen.conf, and the errors still persist. Any idea what could be causing this, and how I can fix it? jms ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WhatsUp Gold - Download Free Network Management Software The most intuitive, comprehensive, and cost-effective network management toolset available today.
