Hi all,

Over the weekend nfsend (the daemon) crashed/failed/stopped, but nfcapd
processes continued working. This meant that flows were captured and
stored but RRA/RRD files were not updated.

Restarting nfsen (/etc/init.d/nfsen restart) restarted nfcapd and
started nfsend, and graphs started updating, but not for the flows
collected whilst nfsend was not running.

Is there a way to get RRAs/RRDs to update based on existing flow-data
(possibly by specifying a start/end date to parse)?

I have searched and not been able to find a way to do this. The closest
I have found is to rebuild non-shadow profiles with their RRAs (nfsen -r
PROFILENAME all). However that rebuilds RRAs from scratch (so if you
start with 2 months of flow-data but RRAs containing 12 months of data,
you will end with RRAs containing 2 months of data).

The other thing I cannot find is how to rebuild shadow profile RRAs (ie
without deleting and recreating profiles).

Any pointers gratefully accepted!

Thanks

Ivan
