Hello,

The Python African Tour is a project to promote the Python programming
language and its ecosystem of tools and projects, in every African
context where they can bring value. In particular for: Schools and
Universities, Research Centers, NGOs, and Companies, and individual
entrepreneurs.

Basically, we want to set up a Python training in 4 african countries
every year, during 2 or 3 years.
We are currently having discussions with potentially interested
schools/universities in the following countries: Morocco, Malawi,
Nigeria, South Africa.

For the success of the project, we need support from more people and
organizations.

You can get involved in several ways:

- Host a Python training, possibly including additional specific
topics such as Zope or Plone, for a group of your affiliates based in
Africa.
To make that happen, we agree with you on the type of training that
best matches your needs, we find a volunteer and we send him to
deliver the training.

- Host and/or sponsor a post-training session such as a sprint, in a
given country where the tour is going.
This is an extension of the training, allowing us to start producing
something useful with the group of people that have been trained (or a
subset).

- Contribute to the global project as a sponsor. For details on the
sponsoring levels we have defined, check the wiki page on OpenPlans
http://www.openplans.org/projects/python-african-tour/sponsorship

If you want detailed information on the project, let me know and I
will send you a document that summarizes the plan.

Best regards,
Kamon Ayeva
Coordinator, Python African Tour

PS: Sorry for those for whom this is not relevant.
