It's not dead, it's just sleeping after a long squawk! I did some work over the weekend and it's refering to the NH 2.1 GA libraries and Lucene 2.3.1 - I've also resolved/closed all of the relevant issues on Jira.
There's still some work to be done to make it feature complete, but on the whole it's looking promising.
