Hi all. Situation: The NH+Oracle community are asking for a support of GUID (JIRA + Forums). Oracle RDBMS and its DataProvider (Ms and the same for the native Oracle DP) are not supporting Guid as DataType. A similar situation is present in Firebird RDBMS with a "little" difference: the DataProvider are supporting Guid for data and parameters; this mean that, in NH, we have a special type (OCTEXT) only for schema creation but we don't need to take care for the conversion of the dataType, in the DataReader or CommandParameter setting, because it is transparent for us through FirebirdDataProvider.
For NH+Oracle community, apparently, is more easy to ask us a solution instead ask to MS or Oracle developers. Question: Do we provide a solution ? (+1=yes) If the result will be "yes" I want say that this case (Guid matters) should be the only one where NH-team are providing a solution for an external issue. Please send your vote. Fabio Maulo
