Thanks Fabio, The patch in JIRA adds support only for lists, the patch attached in the mail adds support for sets and bags. The reason there is no support for other collections is that I didn't need them yet. I think adding analogous lines for other collections will make them work as well.
If I find some time, I will create test cases and attach them.
