Hi team.
I pushed a change to 3.3.x. I wouldn't mind a sanity check on the change I
made, but my main question is if somebody plans to merge 3.3.x into master
again. I just want to ensure the change isn't lost and if nobody is going
to do it I'll cherry pick the change back onto master.
