Probably you are using the entirely repository.When a big branch or a big tag is added to the repository and you try the update you may need more than one update to have entirely repository back to your working-copy. In NH I'm using specific working-copy: one for trunk and the other for NH2.0.x branch. I don't have problems with it and all work quickly as expected. ;)
