Thanks for looking at NHprof - that would help considerably.

I've analysed the issue properly now rather than relying on someone
else's analysis and relaying it to here.  There was a problem when
converting between DateTime and SqlDateTime in the framework.  Nothing
to do with NHibernate.

Thanks for the help - I shall go hide under my rock again.
