FWIW, I just downloaded NHibernate.Validator-1.2.0.Beta1-bin.zip from sourceforge, and it unzips just fine with XP's built in tool.
The stackoverflow link Roger Kratz posted describes the same symptoms I'm seeing, so probably worth trying the fix listed there.
