Im not sure if anyone else has noticed this but the Configuration.AddXml it quite a bit slower in nhibernate 2.1 compared to nhibernate 1.2 . In 1.2 we have 300 persistable classes so calling addxml to add all our xml files would take 2 seconds. In nhibernate 2.1 it now takes 9 seconds so it really killed our tests which used to take 700 seconds now take 1400 seconds because of this. Thankfully the configuration class is now serializable so I was able to serialize it but I now need to save this to disk so that all our tests can use it so its adding quite a bit of complexity to our tests. Profiling nhibernate I found that all the performance hit was coming from Configuration.LoadMappingDocument. Does anyone know what might have changed related to this that would have caused the performance hit ?
