as a follow up with windows services. here is how i have been managing it: I wonder why the book would say that NH is not a good fit for windows services? after all the service is really just the entry point. it could also be a web page, desktop or console app. that wouldn't change how the system would interact with a database. there is the issue of session management, but that exists with any environment: web, desktop, console.
