One thing which makes building the configuration taking so long ist
the XmlSerializer. At the first time the serializer is called it
gernerates foreach serializable class a concrete serializer (if I
understood the documentation right). Anyway this call takes a lot of
time. As sugested before, serializing the complete configuration can
speedup the start a lot.

Building the configuration asynchron gives a speed up if you don't
need dataacces on startup. If you need a direct dataaccess your
application has to wait.
