Okay here is the straightened version, sorry for the confusion.
There are two classes Contract and WorkItem. I'm looking for a
business key for WorkItem here.
public class Contract
{
public virtual int Id {get; set;}
public virtual int Number {get; set;}
public virtual IList<WorkItem> WorkItems {get; set;}
}
public class WorkItem
{
public virtual int Id {get; set;}
public virtual int Number {get; set;}
public virtual Contract {get; set;}
}
A candidate for the business key for WorkItem would be the Contract
and the WorkItem.Number. Each WorkItem is guaranteed to have a
contract so there would be no nulls in there. Is it a bad idea to use
a related Entity (Contract in this case) for the business key?
