I'm trying to figure out how to use NHibernate with WCF, and write a small test system. And I found a little performance issue, I'm serializing my entities with their State (New,Modified,Deleted...) and perform required operation on other side. And it looks like Nhibernate when dealing with Many-to-Many relationship collections, first deletes all relationships and then insert what is found in collection. This can be pretty slow if there are lot's of many-to-many relationships.. What are the options here? I can re-read object from db compare it to received object and insert \update only needed data (SELECT is faster then INSERT so it will be better). I can serialize changed relationships and somehow apply them before session.Update(). Is there a way to make NHibernate serialize relationship data, or I will have to provide my own method to do this. If so how to properly apply this data to NHibernate before calling Update.
