we use CreateCriteria mostly
using (var tx = session.BeginTransaction())
{
census = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(Census))
.Add(Restrictions.Eq("SSN", "123456789"))
.UniqueResult<Census>();
tx.Commit();
}
we've also tried usign HQL.
and we've tried specifying the data type as string.
