Wall Street ends week with biggest gains since 2007

Stocks on Wall Street capped the longest streak of weekly gains since
2007, as Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke said programmes to
unfreeze credit markets are working and Blackberry maker Research In
Motion's forecasts boosted technology shares.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 39.51 points, or 0.5%, to
8017.59 after dropping in early trading when the government said the
unemployment rate climbed to a 25-year high of 8.5%.
