It won't get caught in the back tire if you sit on the coat, but it will flap in the wind and become extremely annoying after say, 30 seconds. Obviously if you have the coat tails hanging off the back of the bike close to the tire, you are fairly certainly in for a trip to your friendly ER, or maybe your local morgue.
