Every 5,000 miles, religiously, and I clean and oil the K&N each time. I won't argue that toyotas are more reliably built than most other brands. That's why I bought it. I don't like trucks, and of all the small trucks, the tacoma is one of the ugliest. But I just came off a string of Mitsubishis (fun to drive, but don't count on it to get you to work every day), and an old MGB (not as much fun to drive, and far less reliable), and I wanted something I wouldn't have to work on as much. I'm very rough on cars, very few make it over 100K under my right foot, so I decided on a toyota. I can't stand front wheel drive, so my choices were a truck, or a supra. As much fun as a supra would be, I was getting rid of a turbocharged, AWD sports car, and decided to keep it simple. So I went with the tacoma. I've had to do some work on it, but nowhere near as much as I would have with another car. Now that I'm done praising toyota, I'll just say that I have much the same respect for honda, and run my K&N in my nighthawk without worry. If you don't want to, that's fine, it won't hurt my feelings any :)
