Dennis, Thanks for the response. It was only to get the cover off to clean up and polish. This bike has been registered "non-operational" here in California since Dec. '99. The odometer shows 11,000+ miles and I have no idea if that is correct. If it is anyway close, the engine shouldn't need any service. It did run when I bought it. Guess I'll try to do the cover while still on the engine.
