Hi,

I'm a new Nighthawk owner and new to this group as far as posting
goes. It's great to know this resource exists and there are such a
good number of great folks ready to share their experiences and
knowledge.

Anyway, to the issue at hand...

I bought a 83 CB650SC a month ago. It only had 17,000 mi which meant
it sat around most of the time. The bike looked to be in great shape
cosmetically but I did discover there were a couple of serious issues
that required immediate attention (front calipers were frozen and the
steering stem bearings were shot). No problem fixing those issues (I'm
a retired machine repairman) but there is one remaining smaller (?)
issue. There is an intermittent valve ticking. At times the ticking is
quite loud but it comes and goes on its own.

Does anyone have suggestions for what I might try? I've already
changed the oil using Rotella-T adding a little Sea Foam. Maybe I just
need to be a bit more patient and change the oil a few more times
doctored with Sea Foam? How much Sea Foam should I be putting in the
oil?

Thanks for all your help/suggestions.

Tim
