The flasher works with the hi-beam. Switching to lo-beam shuts the flasher off. (You can also set it the opposite way.) Also, there's a sensor which automatically resets it to steady light when it begins to get dark out. That's required by law. Incidentally, headlight modulators are legal in all 50 states.
The VisiPath is easy to install (it plugs in between the light and the light harness) and costs about $75, though I got mine on ebay for about $50. Some think you're a cop and slow up or even pull over to the side. But the important thing is that they notice you. Heck, they can't NOT notice you.
