I am trying to replace a throttle cable on a 1985 CB450SC Nighthawk. I have the cable hooked up to the carb, but when setting it in the throttle, it is really taught, meanwhile the stationary return cable which does not have an adjuster is really loosed (inch and a half of play compared to less than half of an inch) I have already adjusted from the top adjuster and I made it to where I could put it all together, but when I did, it didn't work out well. I started it and gave it a little gas and it died. Then I did it again a few times and once it didn't die, but it revved so loud a woman went up to me and told me not to rev my engine because her 3 year old daughter was asleep. Also, When I pull the throttle, instead of it having a limited no-gas to all-gas (couldn't think to put it any other way) position, I can just keep twisting it and it has no stop point.
