Nah, I didn't get any pics of that one. I took plenty of pics of that God
awful gold monstrosity though. Those with a strong stomach can view them at

kyle do you have a picture of said crispy-critter? It doesn't take a genius
to know that body putty is porous and therefore NOT a good sealant against
corrosive gas.

I'm not an expert on body work or bondo, but...
My local salvage yard has one nighthawk that obviously caught on fire.
What happened is the guy drilled holes in the tank to pull a dent out, then
bondoed over it and repainted etc. All the right steps for getting a dent out
of a fender, but apparently it started to leak, and was parked next to the
water heater, and took the house with it when it went.

        Hi -

Re: complete disassembly: don't. Motorcycles are a huge pain to put
together, and the 91-03 Nighthawk is a warhorse - it'll take quite a
bit of abuse and neglect. Do a general inspection and replace things
piece by piece, it'll maximize your chances of having a running
        motorcycle at the end.

Repainting: I'm currently considering doing the same, as well as bondo-
ing some dents on the gas tank. No experience either way. I'd like to
hear your report back to the group when you do it, if you don't mind.

Chin fairing: a lot of people use National Cycle or Givi fairings. You
can buy a short windscreen/flyscreen very cheaply. I have one on the
        way as well.

Luggage rack: most luggage racks made for the CB750 are actually made
for the Seven-Fifty, which is the European version, and attach to the
grab rail. The US version doesn't have a grab rail and so you'll need
to do some cutting and fabricating to put it together. However,
Ventura has a kit for the Nighthawk (http://www.ventura-bike.com/
fitments.aspx?manu=Honda), and Givi makes a universal fitment kit, so
        you do have some options.
