OK, from what I've seen here, I'm the guy who probably paid more than
everybody else for their Nighthawk. But I'm completely okay with
that...

To explain why you have to understand,... I wanted a Nighthawk for
about 5 years. While cost to me was important, within a certain
boundary it was not the limiting factor- finding just the bike that
met my requirements was. A newer model year, low mileage,
mechanically sound and cosmetically beautiful was what I was looking
for. Yes, I know what you're thinking, why didn't I just buy a new
bike? The problem is the Nighthawks are not manufactured anymore.
Even the 250's are gone now, and with my 6'2", 220lb frame the 250's
that were made after 2003 were just too small for me. That left me
with only one option- look for something used.

So I looked on and off for a few years but didn't find anything, until
I found my '03 750 on the Internet. I bought it from a Honda
dealership (which, right there, should tell you it ain't gonna' be a
steal), where somebody had just traded it in on a 4-wheeler. But the
bike was in just about show-room condition. Other than a small ding
in the exhaust where it had fallen over on the kick stand, it was
everything I wanted. The dealership had completely serviced the bike
and installed a new battery, but other than that it was stock. I paid
just under $4K for it, and it had 3200 miles.

So, after taking so long to find exactly what I wanted, I wasn't going
to let a few hundred dollars (the difference between what I paid and
what probably would have been a better deal) get between me and that
bike. I bought it on the spot- and would do it again if I had to re-
do the experience. I just love that Nighthawk. I never winterized
it, as I've found that anything above 40-degrees is a opportunity for
at least a short ride. And here in Maryland, we get a fair number of
40+ degree days even in the middle of winter (my wife has learned it's
now very easy to get me to go to the grocery store on the weekends-
but only as long as whatever we need will fit on a Hondaline luggage
rack ;-)).

Here's a pciture, if you want to see it. It's really not all that
special,... except to me:
