I just wondered. The lenses can be polished out (carefully, they're polycarb)
and I've saved a few faces by disassembling them and doing whatever needed to
be done. Restoration can be a tough job. My VF11 lenses were scratched so bad
they couldn't be read. 20+ hours of work to clean them up. Sometimes you don't
want to spend the money, later on, the parts aren't available no matter how
much you're willing to spend.

Hi Dennis,

The faces are a little weathered - not so much that I can't read them,
but enough so that they're a little ugly. Not the end of the world; if
it was really urgent, I'd simply replace with a digital tach/speedo,
or try to frankenstein another CB's instrument cluster onto my
nighthawk. The 80's CB550/650/750/900 look like they might work.

cleaning, seat has cracked vinyl, repaired crack in plastic seat cowl, tank has
3 dents in it - I suppose that I should just suck it up and get out the bondo.
Needed quite a bit of this and that work in fact. Total learning experience, but
I'm really quite fond of the machine. (Is it a "her" or a
"him"?)  What (other than a decent coat of paint) would totally float
my boat is new dials on my speedo and tach, mine are really weather beaten.
Unfortunately, I've only seen them for early CB750's. Pity.  Cheers
